Pav Bhaji

Read this recipe in Marathi 
Servings: 3 to 4 Persons 


Ingredients: 
2 to 3 medium potatoes
1 cup medium florets of flower
1 small carrot chopped in medium pieces
½ medium chunks of capsicum
3-4 French beans broken in 3 pieces
¼ cup steamed green peas
1 ½ tomato finely chopped
1 tbspn chopped coriander leaves 

½ tspn turmeric powder
1 ¼ tspn red chilly powder
1 tbspn garlic paste
1 ½ cup finely chopped onion
2 to 3 tspn pavbhaji masala (I use Everest or Badshah brand)
Salt for taste
Salted Butter
White bread Dinner rolls or slice bread 

Method: 

1. Boiled all vegetables together except onion, tomato and green peas in the cooker.Mash them when they are done.
2. Heat 2 tbspn butter in a saucepan. Add garlic paste. Sauté for a minute.
When you feel a nice aroma add 1 cup chopped onion. Stir for 2-3 minutes.
Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder.1 tspn pavbhaji masala and chopped tomato. Stir well till you see oil coming out from the mixture.
3. Add mashed vegetables and green peas. Add salt and more pavbhaji masala.
Mix well and cover saucepan with a lid. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes. Add dry mango powder or add lemon juice, if you feel bhaji is less sour.
4. Heat butter in a thick-bottomed pan or a tawa. Slice pav horizontally into two and shallow fry in butter till pav is crisp and light brown.
5.Serve Hot bhaji with pav and remaining chopped onion. Put little butter on bhaji while serving.
