Servings: 2 to 3 persons
Ingredients:
2 cups unpeeled raw cashew nuts (ole kaju)
1 cup green peas (mutter)
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 tspn turmeric powder
Asafoetida
4-5 curry leaves
1/2 tspn coriander seeds powder
1/2 tspn cumin seeds powder
For grinding to make paste-
1/2 cup fresh grated coconut
4-5 peppercorns
1 green chilly
1 pinch of sugar
salt to taste
And 3 tbspn oil
Method:
1. Soak cashewnuts in warm water for 1-2 hrs.then peel.Coarsely grind the Coconut, Green Chillies and black Peppercorns to a paste.
2. Heat oil in a wok. Add curry leaves and then add chopped onion. Stir for 3-4 minutes.
3. Next add coconut-chilly paste. Stir for a minute then add coriander-cumin seeds powder,turmeric powder, sugar and salt. stir for 2 minutes.
4. Then add cashew nuts and green peas. Cover wok with a lid and let it cook for 5-10 minutes. Turn off the heat. Serve usal with roti or puri
