Ingredients:
400 grams chicken with bones
2 to 3 tbspn thick yogurt (curd)
2 tspn tandoor masala
1 1/2 tspn red chilly powder(bedgi)
1/2 tspn coriander seeds powder
1/2 tspn cumin seeds powder
1/2 tspn turmeric powder
2 tspn lemon juice
red food colour (optional)
salt to taste
1 tspn oil
2 tspn butter
1 tspn chaat masala to sprinkle
For salad-
2 tspn butter
1 tspn chaat masala to sprinkle

1. Put yogurt in tea-strainer for 5-10 minutes .It will help to drain excess water from the yogurt and you will get a thick yogurt.
2. For making Masala, Add ginger-garlic paste,tandoor masala, cumin-coriander seeds powder,red chilly powder,lemon juice,1 tspn oil and salt to thick yogurt. Mix nicely.
3. Give slight cuts to chicken thighs and legs so that masala seeps inside the chicken. Make 3" pieces of remaining chicken. Marinate chicken for 7-8 hours with this masala and refrigerate it.

4. Preheat oven on 400 F temp. Grease a baking pan and arrange chicken on it. Bake chicken in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Turn up side down of each piece after 15 minutes and put little butter on each piece. Bake for another 15 minutes or till completely cook.
5. Sprinkle chat masala and lemon juice on hot tandoori chicken and serve with onion-cabbage salad..
Tip: 1.Don't over cook chicken ,it will spoil the taste and tenderness.
2. A simple tip to give smokey flavour to tandoori chicken,
Take a small piece of charcoal and heat that piece on flame.Either you can heat that on candle flame or on gas. Heat till it turns red (extreamely hot). Put it in a steel bowl and place that bowl along with tandoori chicken in the same plate. Pour some ghee or oil on the red hot charcoal.that will create smoke. Immediately cover tandoori chicken with a wok. Let the smoke stay inside for sometime. You will get a nice smokey flavour to tandoori chicken.
