Read this recipe in Marathi
Serving: 3 to 4 Persons
Ingredients:
2 tbspn tuar dal
2 tbspn chana dal
2 tbspn udad dal
2 tbspn mung dal
2 tbspn green mung
for tempering-
3 tbspn oil
1 dry red chilly
Curry leaves
1/2 tspn corinder seeds powder
1/2 tspn cumin seeds powder
1 pinch garam masala
1/2 tspn turmeric powder
1 tspn red chilly powder
1/4 tspn asafoetida
2 cloves
1 bay leaf
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 tomato finely chopped
1 tbspn jaggery
Method:
1. Soak all 4 dals and green mung in water for 2 hours.
2. Add 2.5 times water to it and pressure cook them. Mash them finely.
3. Heat oil in a saucepan. Add bay leaf, cloves, cumin seeds, broken dry chilly. Add asafoetida and curry leaves. When you smell a good aroma, Add onion and grated ginger. Stir for 3-4 minutes. Then add turmeric powder, red chilly powder,coriander seeds powder, chopped tomato and 1/4 tspn of salt. stir for 5 minutes.
4. Next add mixture of mashed dal. Add jaggery and salt. Boil dal for 2-3 minutes.
5. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with baties or with rice.
