Servings: 1 ½ Cup chutney
Ingredients:
1 cup grated coconut
1 dry red chilly
½ tspn udad dal
¼ tspn fenugreek seeds
¼ tspn mustard seeds
3-4 curry leaves
¼ tspn asafetida
1 tspn ginger paste
2 tbspn yogurt
Salt to taste
¼ tspn sugar
1 ½ tbspn oil
Method:
1. Take grated coconut, ginger, salt, sugar in blender. Add little water and grind everything into paste.
2. Add yogurt to the mixture. Heat oil in a small saucepan (tadka kadhai).
3. Add udad dal to hot oil. When it turns pink, add mustard seeds. Let it crackle. Next add fenugreek seeds,curry leaves and broken dry chilly. Add asafetida and give tadka to the mixture.
4. Serve this chutney with idli, Doda, Uttapum or with medu wada.
