Servings: 1 cup
Ingredients:
Masala for grinding-
1/2 cup fresh grated coconut
3/4 cup coriander leaves
1-2 green chilly
1/2 tspn coriander seeds powder
1/2 tspn cumin powder
1/2 tspn tamarind pulp
3/4 tspn salt
1 1/4 tspn sugar
For tempering-
1 tbspn oil
1/2 tspn mustard seeds
1/4 tspn asafoetida
3 curry leaves
Method:
1. Grind all the ingredients together to make a fine paste.
2. Heat oil in a small saucepan. Add mustard seeds. Let it crackle. Add curry leaves and asafoetida and immediately give tadka ti the ground masala (chutney)
3. You can serve this chutney with idli,dosa or any kind of pakodas.
the photo looks so tempting..marathi and tamil cuisine share a lot of similarities. we make this chutney the same way.
