Kanda ghalun dalichi Aamtee

Servings: 4 Persons

1/2 cup toor dal
2 tbspn finely chopped onion
1/2 tspn coriander seeds
2 tbspn fresh grated coconut
1/2 tspn red chilly powder
1/4 tspn turmeric powder
2 kokum
3-4 garlic cloves
salt to taste
2 tbspn oil


1. Pressure cook dal and onion together till dal becomes tender. Grind coriander seeds and fresh grated coconut to make fine paste.
2. mash cooked dal. Add coconut paste. Add salt,turmeric powder,red chilly powder and kokum. Boil amtee (dal) for 5 minutes.
3. Heat oil in small saucepan. Add chopped garlic cloves. when it turns golden brown. Give tadka to the amtee and serve with rice.
