Spicy and Sour Dal

Read this recipe in Marathi
Servings: 4 Persons

1/4 cup toor dal
1 green chilly
1 tspn tamarind pulp
1/2 tspn coriander seeds powder
1/2 tspn cumin seeds powder
1/2 tspn red chilly powder
1/4 tspn turmeric powder
1 tbspn coriander leaves
4-5 garlic cloves
2 tbspn oil
salt to taste

1. Pressure cook toor dal with green chilly till tender. Mash cooked toor dal.
2.  Add coriander seeds-cumin seeds powder,red chilly powder,turmeric powder,salt,tamarind pulp and coriander leaves to the cooked dal.
3. Add water and boil dal for 2-3 minutes.
4. Heat oil in a small saucepan. Add crushed garlic cloves. Give tadka to the dal when garlic cloves turns pinkish. Serve dal with rice.
